Abeleon Damalerio (representative of Frist District Congressman Edgar Chatto) awarded Dennis Telmo Putong (middle) with 10,000 pesos in cash and a certificate of recognition on June 27, 2022.
Dennis Telmo Putong, a resident of Tagbilaran City, won the grand prize for his entry in the Bohol Island Geopark Logo Making Contest, a virtual crowdsourcing activity held last 1-8 June 2022. His logo design was chosen among 11 qualified entries after careful deliberation by the judges which took place on 14 June 2022.
In his design rationale, Putong described each element with the green ring signifying “the beautiful island of Bohol which is known globally as one of the best tourist destinations with both interesting natural beauty and amazing man-made wonders.”
“The yellow ring personifies the Boholano people with bright smiles shining as radiant as rays of the sun. Boholanos are also known for their remarkable genuine hospitality, and joyful and positive persona to impress and satisfy the visitors and tourists’ convenience, making them feel welcome and at home,” he added.
Other important elements such as the Philippine Tarsier and the Chocolate Hills were also emphasized in his logo design.
